Western Christian School

Western Christian Schools was established in 1920. As the oldest, private, Christian school in California, Western provides a college-prep experience with the feel of a small, close-knit community. Western is a college prep institution and students have been accepted to the most prestigious universities in the world. Every year, graduates are accepted by the Universities of their choice. Western prepares students for life beyond university by teaching values and providing an environment where students feel that they belong. With a 14:1 student, teacher ratio and the average class size of 17, students are known by name and have access to teachers and administrators. The school offers free tutoring for every student in most every subject every day. Teachers and counselors work with students as they choose courses and prepare to apply to universities. Every week, the counseling department works with students in preparing their university applications. SAT and AP scores reflect that Western’s students scores are above the State and National averages. Western started an International Program in 1999 and has been a flagship program that offers training and support to other k-12 schools. The international program at Western accepts students from grades six through grade twelve. The International Program at Western was the first to receive an Endorsement from ACSI and is accredited by WASC and ACSI.
