Founded in 1829, Shebbear College is set in 85 acres in the midst of some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside, within easy reach of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and some of the UK’s best surfing beaches. Being a relatively small school means the staff get to know all the pupils and can focus on them as individuals in a warm family environment. The College’s Methodist heritage and values permeate throughout, as it seeks to provide a Foundation for Life, preparing pupils for success after school.

Regular Sixth Form tutorial sessions help with study skills, personal finance and CV writing. The range of extra-curricular activities has an outdoorsy feel, with surfing, paintballing, hill-walking and cycling all on offer, along with interhouse competitions and an annual Christmas extravaganza!
Sport is considered highly beneficial for physical, social, cultural, and mental well-being and so all pupils are encouraged to take part in some form – there is an extensive fixture list against other schools as well as plenty of interhouse competition.
