Academic

The School’s rich, forward-thinking academic curriculum is underpinned by high-quality teaching and academic rigour, encouraging pupils to develop an enduring and life-long passion for learning and discovery. The pass rate for the IB Diploma is consistently high with an average score 7 points above the world average, achievements matched in both A Level and GCSE results. Students consistently continue their studies at the country’s finest universities.

Boarding

The Royal High School welcomes girls from across the world into a warm, welcoming and caring community that inspires and supports, enabling every girl to achieve her best. There is always something happening in the 2 friendly boarding houses, and the School is just a short walk from Bath city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Alongside dedicated staff and supportive teams of housestaff, boarders have access to outstanding academic resources and sporting and social facilities.

Sports

Sporting talent is nurtured at the School, where resident netball and hockey internationals form part of the staff. A wide range of sports is available and facilities include a sports hall, a gym, an Astro pitch and an outdoor swimming pool. Girls who prefer non-competitive sport are encouraged to take up one of the many other activities on offer every lunchtime, after school or at weekends. The School also has strong links with the University of Bath, with access to their facilities.

Creative arts

The Art School consists of 4 beautifully lit studios with facilities for printmaking, sculpture, drawing and painting as well as a dark room and Macs for film-making and photography. The Design Technology department develops talent, with functional and extraordinarily decorative student pieces displayed around the School. Drama performances are hosted regularly and musicians have the chance to join orchestras and groups and to perform in events such as Bath’s annual Music Festival.
