Program

Academic

The broad curriculum features 23 subjects offered up to A Level and individuals’ progress is closely monitored by subject teachers and tutors. Pupils are given the confidence, encouragement and ambition to aim high and this is reflected in recent examination results. Pupils consistently achieve top grades at A level and GCSE, with well over half gaining A*/A. Russell Group universities are a common destination and on average 9 pupils go on to study at Oxford or Cambridge each year.

Boarding

A cohesive, family environment is fostered by the traditional system of in-house dining. The house community meets 3 times a day, providing a chance to chat about the latest events and relax with friends. It is also home to the housemaster or housemistress and their family – under their expert care pupils are encouraged to develop academically and socially. Each house has its own resident matron, on hand 24 hours a day to care for the pupils’ welfare and practical needs.

Sports

A long sporting tradition and a staff of former internationals and professional coaches enables Repton to maximise every pupil’s potential, whether at elite international or recreational level. Extensive playing fields are complemented by outdoor and indoor tennis courts and an Olympic standard Astroturf pitch, whilst the Sports Centre boasts a fitness suite, a sports hall and a swimming pool. The broad range of sports on offer includes basketball, fencing, dance, horse riding, sailing and golf.

Creative arts

The School puts on numerous productions throughout the year, ranging from plays to cabarets and fashion shows. All are held within the state-of-the-art Theatre complex. Music also has a major role at the school – the department is home to a beautiful concert hall and a recording studio. Repton is host to a range of art exhibitions and runs its very own Subscription Series where members of the Music department and successful professional musicians play concerts.
