Daegu International School (DIS), located in Daegu, South Korea, is a co-educational K-12 boarding school. DIS is the first international school to be fully licensed by the Korean Ministry of Education. DIS is also fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. DIS offers a rigorous academic program based on College Board’s Advanced Placement system, the Maine Learning Results, and the Common Core State Standards. DIS has a variety of after school activities that serve students in grades 1-12. DIS can have 30% of its capacity as Korean nationals, and the remainder of the student population must be international students. DIS has 290 students and 39 certified, full time faculty members (U.S.A., Canada, Philippines and foreign language teachers from Venezuela and China). Over 78% of the faculty have Master’s degrees. DIS has a great foundation surrounding our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes, which emphasize character traits that each student needs to be successful. DIS is also a SAT and AP test center.
The DIS dormitory has 60 rooms with 2 beds in each with private bathrooms. The dorm has a fitness center, game room, laundry facilities, kitchen, and lounge/study areas. With small class sizes and a 15:1 student to teacher ratio, DIS is the perfect place for any student from any country!
