The Pre-IB is offered alongside IGCSEs, followed by the IB Diploma, A Levels and BTEC in the Sixth Form. Learning is enhanced by a myriad of activities delivered through the Enrichment Programme. IB candidates achieve an average score of 38, almost half of A Level candidates achieve A*/A, and 80%+ of leavers go on to Russell Group universities. The boys and girls of Ardingly’s global community learn, compete and socialise through a lively programme of activities. A major refurbishment programme has resulted in excellent facilities and the Year 13 students have their own purpose-built Godwin Hall, with single study en-suite bedrooms. The Housemaster/mistress of each House is responsible for pupils’ academic and personal welfare, and along with the pastoral team ensures that the House is a home from home.

Sports

Whether competitive or recreational there is opportunity for all, and along with the major sports the College offers Golf, Horse Riding, Fencing, Rugby, Water Polo and outdoor watersports. The coaching staff boasts a number of ex-internationals and talented Football, Cricket and Hockey players benefit from an elite training programme. The 1st XI won the National Football ISFA Cup in both 2015 and 2016 and Hockey has seen a number of county and regional achievements by both girls and boys.

Creative arts

The bright, spacious Art School houses a large gallery, four studios including a Textiles room, a Sculpture studio, a photography dark room, an extensive Art library, IT facilities and a kiln room. The Music School hosts 30 specialist musicians to enable an extensive teaching timetable, professional musicians hold masterclasses and there are countless opportunities to perform, such as Evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral. Drama productions take place throughout the year including performances at the Edinburgh Fringe.
