The Knox School

The Knox School is an independent day and boarding college preparatory school that serves an average of 160 students in grades 6-12 and Post-Graduate. In addition to its rigorous academic program, Knox offers a well-established Equestrian and Athletics program, and robust Visual and Performing Arts curriculum and co-curricular activities. Our campus offers beautiful views on a historical water front of Stony Brook Harbor, along with an active student life community on and off campus. Our academic program offers 23 AP and honors courses, 4 dual-enrollment university courses, and small class sizes with a 6:1 student/teacher ratio. Faculty are highly skilled, where 78% posses advanced degrees, 59% degrees in education, 19% Ivy League education and 16% have taught at the college level. Our 2019 Senior Class had 100% placement at four year universities, with over 6 million dollars in scholarships. College and university placement include Ivy League schools, Honors programs, top Arts programs, and NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 recruitment. We are a rich and diverse community with students who hail from different countries, states, and communities alike. A total of 17 countries are represented in our current 156 students. All that we do within our academics, athletics, arts and student life program is guided by the Knox Core Values – Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Courage, Kindness and Scholarship.
